Vernon
My
name is
Jackie Vernon and I was born in Montego Bay,
Jamaica. At the tender age of 7, my mother, Aneita
and my siblings, Juliet, Karen, Henry and Byron
Vernon, moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. There, I
completed Elementary, Middle and High school and
continued on to college. I have obtained a degree in
Commercial Arts and am pursuing a second degree in
Business Communication. After completing my
bachelors, I plan to attend Law School where I
aspire to earn a Law Degree to practice Real Estate
and Family Law. I am also an established Licensed
Real Estate Agent in the state of Florida since 2000
and have been successful by the grace of God.
My daily goal is to be used by God in whatever way
He sees fit. One of my desires is to influence our
young people in positive ways and encourage them to
always strive for excellence in whatever they do. I
have been blessed to be a direct influence on lives
of three very beautiful and dynamic girls. I am the
God-Mother of Chante Anderson, Ricquel Foster and
Timya St. Fluer, of whom I am so proud of and love
dearly.
I am also very active in my church, which is Mount
Olivet Seventh Day Adventist Church in Ft.
Lauderdale, Florida. There, I am the Communications
Director and is very committed. I have held several
positions in my church and while fulfilling my
duties as a worker for God, I have drawn closer to
God. I have been placed in positions where it is my
responsibility to be an example and to express love,
sometimes through a simple smile. With that in
mind, I take what I do for the Lord, very seriously.
I have faced many obstacles in my life, but I always
look back and say to others and myself; I thank God
for my mother, who has given me the best gift of
all. She has given me the gift of knowing God. By
knowing God and what He can do, I have and continue
to overcome all obstacles. I love my mother with all
my heart and I just want to say “thanks mama” for
loving me enough to take time out to teach me about
my creator, my savior, my deliverer, my best friend,
my burden bearer, my strength, my shelter in the
time of storm, my solid rock, my prince of peace, my
way out of no way, and my God.
Thank you God for loving me in-spite of….
